1. Charging EcoFlow Delta 2 with a Standard Wall Outlet (AC Charging)
This is the fastest and easiest way to charge your DELTA 2. It uses EcoFlow’s X-Stream technology for very quick charging.
What You’ll Need:
- The AC Charging Cable that came with your DELTA 2 (it looks like a standard computer power cord).
- A standard wall outlet.
The Steps:
- Locate the Input Port: Find the AC Charging Input Port on the back or side of your DELTA 2.
- Plug in the Cable: Take the AC Charging Cable and plug one end into the DELTA 2’s AC Input Port.
- Plug into the Wall: Plug the other end of the cable directly into a standard wall outlet.
- Check the Screen: The DELTA 2’s screen will light up and show the Input Power (in Watts) and the Remaining Charging Time. You’ll also see the battery indicator icon spinning to show it’s charging.
- Charging Time: The DELTA 2 charges incredibly fast—it can go from 0% to 80% in about 50 minutes and to full (100%) in about 72-80 minutes!
Pro Tip: If you’re on a weaker power circuit, you can use the EcoFlow App to lower the charging speed to prevent tripping a circuit breaker.
2. Charging with Solar Panels (Solar Charging)
This option is perfect for staying charged while camping, during extended outages, or just to save on your electricity bill.
What You’ll Need:
- Compatible Solar Panels (EcoFlow or third-party). The DELTA 2 can take up to 500W of solar input.
- The Solar to XT60 Charging Cable (usually comes with the solar panels).
The Steps:
- Set Up the Solar Panels: Place your solar panels where they can get the most direct sunlight—ideally facing south (in the Northern Hemisphere) and perpendicular to the sun’s rays. Make sure they aren’t shaded by trees or buildings.
- Connect the Solar Panels: Connect your solar panels together using their cables.
- Connect to the DELTA 2: Connect the end of the solar panel array to the XT60 input on your DELTA 2 using the Solar to XT60 cable. The XT60 port is usually labeled as the “Solar/Car Charging Input.”
- Monitor the Charge: Check the DELTA 2 screen. It will show the Input Power from the sun. The power will vary depending on the weather and the sun’s angle.
Important Note: Make sure the voltage of your solar panels doesn’t exceed 60V, or you could damage the unit! Always check the solar panel’s specifications.
3. Charging with Your Car (Car Charging)
You can charge your DELTA 2 using the cigarette lighter port in your car. This is a slower method, but it’s great for topping up the battery while you’re on the road.
What You’ll Need:
- The Car Charging Cable (usually sold separately or included).
The Steps:
- Start Your Engine: It’s very important to start your vehicle’s engine first. Charging from a running engine prevents draining your car’s starter battery.
- Locate the Car Port: Find the Solar/Car Charging Input Port on your DELTA 2 (it’s the same XT60 port used for solar).
- Connect the Cable: Plug the small end of the car charging cable into the DELTA 2’s XT60 port.
- Plug into the Car: Plug the larger end of the cable into your car’s cigarette lighter or 12V outlet.
- Check the Screen: The screen will show the lower Input Power (typically around 96W or 126W, depending on your car). It will take several hours to fully charge using this method.
4. Charging with the EcoFlow Smart Generator
For long-term outages where solar isn’t enough and you’ve run out of stored energy, you can use the EcoFlow Smart Generator (sold separately).
What You’ll Need:
- An EcoFlow Smart Generator.
- The Extra Battery Port Cable (for Smart Generator connection).
The Steps:
- Set up the Generator: Follow the Smart Generator’s instructions for fueling and starting.
- Connect the Cable: Use the correct cable to connect the Smart Generator to the Extra Battery Port on the DELTA 2.
- Automatic Charging: If you’ve connected them properly and the DELTA 2’s battery drops to a low preset level, the Smart Generator can automatically start and charge the DELTA 2.
Quick Tips for Monitoring and Use
- Always Turn Off Ports: To save power, remember to press the dedicated AC or DC power buttons to turn off those outputs when you’re not using them.
- Check the App: Download and use the EcoFlow App to monitor the charging status, adjust AC charging speed, and get real-time information from your phone.
- Charge While You Use: The DELTA 2 can be charged and can power your devices at the same time! This is called Pass-Through Charging. If it’s plugged into the wall, your devices will run off the wall power until the grid goes down, then it switches to the battery instantly (this is called Emergency Power Supply or EPS).
The DELTA 2 gives you great flexibility to keep your essential electronics running no matter where you are or what the grid is doing!
