About Rumpl Blankets
Rumpl Blankets are one of our favorite new accessories. The puffy blanket is warm, weatherproof, stain resistant, rip resistant and made from recycled plastic bottles.
Calling this product a “blanket” is actually something of an understatement. Rumpl is a lot more than that – you can sleep in it, wear it like a cape, use it for a tent floor, eat on it like a picnic blanket and much more. On top of all that, Rumpl features some of the coolest, most artistic designs we’ve ever seen on a blanket. We have curated a list of our favorite looks among their three main blanket styles.
All Rumpl Blankets are made from the same core materials and constructed with 30D ripstop nylon fabric and recycled polyester. The blanket exterior resembles a sleeping bag, is water and stain resistant and machine washable. The blankets are available in a stunning variety of colors and patterns and can take a lot of punishment without getting damaged or torn.
Things I Love About Rumpl Blankets:
- Warm – the NanoLoft insulation is just as warm as traditional duck down, while also being more lightweight and 100% vegan
- Weatherproof – the exterior shell and interior insulation stay dry even in damp conditions. It’s not waterproof, but I never notice my Rumpl gear getting wet or waterlogged.
- Easy to clean – with DWR finish for stain and water resistance
- Sustainable – made with 100% post-consumer recycled polyester shell and insulation
- Wearable – with a Cape Clip® that allows you to wear the blanket hands-free
- Packable – Water-resistant stuff sack included to conveniently pack your Rumpl
- Risk-Free – Return within 100 days if you are not satisfied
What are the best Rumpl Blankets?
Rumpl Blankets come in three main styles: the Original Puffy Blanket, the Nanoloft® Puffy Blanket, and the Down Puffy Blanket.
The Original and Nanoloft® Puffy Blankets are made with vegan friendly synthetic materials, and the Down Puffy Blanket is made with responsibly sourced duck down insulation.
Our list below includes the best Rumpl Blankets in each category, in terms of design and customer reviews.

Rumpl Original Puffy Blanket
- 60 recycled plastic bottles to create one blanket
- Available in 1-Person 52 x 75” and 2-Person 80 x 84″ sizes
- Weights are 1-Person 1.8 lbs. and 2-Person 3.4 lbs.
Rumpl NanoLoft® Puffy Blanket
The Rumpl Nanoloft® Puffy Blanket incorporates the same ripstop nylon fabric and PET plastic as the original, but it comes with its own breakthrough innovation. Remarkably, its 3D hollow fiber silicon synthetic insulation utilizes tiny circles of fiber that expand and trap heat in a way that mimics natural feather down. However, the material is synthetic and vegan friendly. Of course, these warm blankets are still just as eco-friendly as the preceding version and are fully composed of post consumer recycled materials. A Rumpl Nanoloft® Puffy Blanket takes fewer bottles to make because it is lighter and more packable than the original.

Rumpl Down Puffy Blanket
The Rumpl Down Puffy Blanket is the lightest of all three blankets. Its soft blanket insulation is 100% sustainably-sourced hydrophobic duck down. Like the rest, it is waterproof, weather resistant, and machine washable. The recycled polyester surface is treated with a DWR finish, giving the blanket its water repellent quality. This blanket style is the most packable of the three because of its light weight, making the Down Puffy Blanket great for adventures where space-saving is a priority.

What are customers saying about Rumpl Blankets?
Do not just take our word for it – here are some customer reviews sharing what they love best about their sustainably-sourced blankets built from recycled plastic bottles and recycled polyester.
You can hardly go wrong choosing among the Rumpl Original Puffy Blanket designs. The plethora of blanket style choices available suggests that pretty much anyone can find a version of this blanket that suits them.
Many of the best Rumpl Blankets draw their inspiration from scenery you might venture to see with your blanket in tow. Take the Ocean Fade design, which calls to mind the depths of the sea with its rich blends of dark and bright blue. Or check out the series of national park-inspired blankets – they feature some of the best views from popular destinations like the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone.
Those with a flair for the 60s era aesthetic, for example, might fall in love with the Cosmic Soul design; it boasts a tie-dye print inspired by the Grateful Dead.
On the other hand, the Crisp Fade Nanoloft Puffy Blanket (reminiscent of a spring sky at dawn) will appeal more to lovers of solid or ombre looks.
Nature lovers will appreciate the popular Old Growth print (displaying an overhead shot of a dense, green forest). Star-gazers will love the colorful Lagoon Nebula blanket with its depiction of a beautiful interstellar cloud. Then again, some might just be drawn to the pragmatic look of the Lake Tahoe blanket – a design featuring this famous lake as a topographic map!
