I had the pleasure of trying out the Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Pot, which was sent to me by the company for testing.
The kettle pot is a portable cooking system that combines several functions within one compact device. Although it requires electricity to run, the kettle pot is designed for camping and outdoor use.
Itโs like a Dutch oven combined with a kettle, providing the ability to quickly generate a lot of heat and cooking power with the simple push of a button.
In this review, we tested cooking several foods in the Stoke Voltaics, from water, to pasta sauce, to popcorn, to uncover its key features, how it works, and what we found to be its pros and cons.

Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Pot Review: Exploring the Key Features
Stainless Steel Cooker
My favorite design feature of the Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Pot is the 24 ounce stainless steel cooker. Itโs modern, sleek and easy to clean.
Fast Heating
Built with rapid heating technology, the Stoke Voltaics reduces cooking times significantly, allowing you to generate powerful heat in a fraction of the time compared to traditional methods.
Non-Toxic Materials
I love that the Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Pot is made without perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). PFOA and PTFE are toxic substances used in non-stick Teflon products, and have been linked to health issues, including thyroid disorders, chronic kidney disease, liver disease, and testicular cancer.
User Friendly Interface
With intuitive controls and preset cooking modes, the Stoke Voltaics simplifies the cooking process, making it easy for users of all skill levels. You turn the Stoke VoltaicsON / OFF and control the cooking modes with a slider button and power button.
Lightweight and Portable
The Stoke Voltaics is small and easy to carry, weighing less than 2 pounds. Itโs compact enough to store in a backpack.
Multi-Functional Cooking Modes
The Stoke Voltaics has 3 modes – Drink, Eat and Pop. Drink is made for boiling water for coffee and tea, Eat is for cooking meals and Pop is for popping corn.
The Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Pot excels in combining advanced technology, user-friendly design, and exceptional performance to elevate your culinary experience. Embrace innovation in the kitchen with the Stoke Voltaics and unlock a world of possibilities in every meal you create.
Comparing the Stoke Voltaics to Other Cooking Systems
Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Pot
The Stoke Voltaics offers a modern approach to personal cooking systems, with an emphasis on portability and speed. It combines several cooking functionalities into one compact system, so that you can boil water, cook soup and pop popcorn all in one place.
However, you canโt control the heat settings on the Stoke Voltaics in the Cook mode, which makes it more prone to burning food.
Portable Dutch Oven
A portable dutch oven is a classic camp cooking tool known for its ability to retain heat and cook food evenly. While dutch ovens are great for slow-cooking dishes like chili, soup and stew over open flames or coals, they take longer to heat up.
However, you have more control over the cooking process because you can adjust the heat settings. This makes a Dutch Oven less likely to burn.
Open Fire
Cooking over an open fire is a classic camping experience, and you canโt beat it for dishes like hot dogs or Sโmores. On the other hand, open fires can be hard to start, difficult to control and even potentially dangerous if youโre not following specific safety guidelines. Itโs also very easy to ruin your meal if food accidentally falls into the open flames.
Therefore, while cooking over a campfire is fun and potentially delicious, it doesnโt offer the same level of precision and convenience as the Stoke Voltaics or Dutch Oven.
Portable Gas Burner
Portable gas burners are popular for camping because theyโre easy to use, quick to set up and reliable. Theyโre ideal for simple cooking, like boiling water and frying sausages. However, they can also be somewhat limited in terms of the types of food you can cook, especially when using a single burner.
Therefore, gas burners may not offer the same level of multifunctionality as the Stoke Voltaics or portable Dutch Oven, which allows you to cook a variety of different types of meals with one portable system.
Stove System
Stove systems are all-in-one solutions for camp cooking, where a burner head is screwed into a canister, and a pot is attached to the burner head. This type of cooking system is ideal in terms of heat, precision and multi-functionality, and superior to the Stoke Voltaics and a Dutch Oven. However, stove systems can be large and heavy, making them more difficult to transport.

My Experience with the Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Pot
I used the Stoke Voltaics at home and cooked a variety of beverages and foods, including boiling water for tea, making pasta sauce for spaghetti and attempting to cook popcorn.
The Stoke Voltaics has 3 cooking modes, which include Drink, Eat and Pop.
- Drink Mode: Heats liquid to a boiling point, after which the cooker will automatically shut off. This is ideal for tea, coffee or soup.
- Eat Mode: Also heats to a boiling point, but does not have an auto-shut off. This is intended for cooking, although the contents must be closely monitored to avoid burning.
- Pop Mode: Designed to heat popcorn kernels to their ideal popping temperature. After the popping is complete, the cooker should automatically shut off.
How the Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Works
- To start using the Jouelle, you open a rubber flap that covers the power jack, connect the power cable to the jack and plug the cable into the wall.
- Next, press the power button to activate the cooker. When the cooker is activated, all the lights will turn on for a few seconds, and then turn off. This lets you know that the appliance is ready for use.
- Select your desired cooking mode by moving the slider button on the front of the cooker.
- Pour contents into the cooker, ensuring that you stay below the maximum water level so that the contents donโt boil over and burn your hand.
- If youโre in Drink or Pop mode, the cooker will power down automatically once the contents are cooked to completion.
- If youโre in Cook mode, youโll need to shut off the cooker manually.
Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Pot Review of the Cooking Results
Boiling Water
I placed the cooking mode into โBoilโ and filled the Stoke Voltaics to the max water line. The process of boiling water worked well and took less than 2 minutes. There is an auto-shut off feature that turns the device off when the process is completed.
Cooking Pasta Sauce
Next, I placed the Stoke Voltaics into the โCookโ mode and started with sauteing onions for my pasta sauce. Keep in mind that when youโre in cook mode, there is no auto-shut off or the ability to control the temperature setting. You need to closely monitor the cooking to make sure nothing burns.
The onions cooked nicely, after which I added a full 24-ounce jar of pasta sauce with spices. The sauce heated up very quickly and I made sure to regularly stir. The heat is so powerful that I could tell that the sauce would burn if I let it sit for longer than a few minutes at a time.
The sauce turned out very delicious and cooked in less than 10 minutes. After I emptied the sauce, I could see that there was a slight burn at the bottom of the Jouelle.
I didn’t cook the pasta in the kettle pot, although I easily could have. It provides plenty of heat to cook things like pasta, rice, and barley.
Cooking Popcorn
This is where the Stoke Voltaicsfell seriously short. I carefully followed the instructions, added oil and enough kernels to cover the bottom of the Stoke Voltaics and switched it into โPopโ mode. This mode has an auto-shut off so you can theoretically set and forget it.
The Stoke Voltaics went through its cooking cycle and powered down when complete. I checked the results and was very disappointed. Half of the kernels were burned and the other half were uncooked. It was all unusable and I tossed it into the trash.
Pros and Cons
When considering investing in a new kitchen appliance like the Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Pot, it’s essential to weigh the pros and cons to make an informed decision. Let’s explore the advantages and potential drawbacks of incorporating the Stoke Voltaics into your culinary arsenal.
Pros of Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Pot
- Efficient and Time-Saving: The Stoke Voltaicsgets very hot quickly and brings liquids to a boil in about 2 minutes.
- Built-in Safety Features: The auto-shut off function in boil and pop modes
- Versatile Cooking Modes: I used the Stoke Voltaics to boil water, saute onions, cook a 24 ounce jar of pasta sauce and pop popcorn. The process was quick and easy.
- Easy to Clean: The Jouelle‘s stainless steel cup and simple design makes it easy to clean. I was able to both boil water for tea and cook pasta sauce in the same container without any issues or problems cleaning.
Cons of Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Pot
- Pop Mode Burns Kernels: The popcorn cooker burned a good portion of the kernels and did not fully cook all of them. I would not use the device for this purpose.
- No temperature control: When in cook mode, you have to turn the Stoke Voltaics off and on to regulate temperature.
- Limited Capacity: The size of the Stoke Voltaics may be a limitation for cooking larger meals or preparing meals for a crowd.
While the Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Pot offers benefits like speedy cooking, versatile cooking modes, and easy cleaning, it’s important to consider that the pop mode doesnโt work well and the overall cooking capacity is pretty limited.

Cost and Value for Money
The Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Pot retails for $99. Itโs comparable to products like the GoSun Brew – Travel Coffee Maker & Mug ($99), โโMSR WindBurner Duo Stove System ($219) and the Jetboil Flash Cooking System ($129).
Stoke Voltaics Electric Kettle Pot (JOULLE)
- Features: Compact, powerful, electrically powered, modes for drinks, meals, and popcorn, with durable 304 stainless steel construction.
- Price: At $99, the Stoke Voltaics is more expensive than single mode electric kettles, or portable gas burners. However, itโs cheaper than portable cooking systems.
GoSun Brew – Travel Coffee Maker & Mug ($99)
- Features: Designed specifically as a travel coffee maker and mug, the GoSun Brew provides a 12-volt, 120-watt heating element that allows users to make soup, and reheat beverages. You can also connect the GoSun Brew to solar panels, making it more energy-efficient than the Stoke Voltaics. However, the GoSun Brew is smaller and less powerful, which means cooking bigger meals like pasta and rice would be more difficult.
- Price: The GoSun Brew is also $99, but is smaller and provides less cooking options.
MSR WindBurner Duo Stove System ($219)
- Features: A comprehensive stove system designed for outdoor cooking, with a fast-boil 1.8-liter pot, including an 8-ounce IsoPro fuel canister (sold separately), radiant burner technology, windproof construction
- Price: The MSR WindBurner Duo Stove System is priced more expensively at $219.
Jetboil Flash Cooking System ($129)
- Features: An all-in-one cooking solution that is powered by a Isobutane-propane canister, with a 1-liter FluxRing aluminum cooking cup, push-button igniter, color-change heat indicator, rapid boil time of 100 seconds, integrated burner and cooking vessel.
- Price: The Jetboil Flash Cooking System is priced at $129, making it more expensive than the Stoke Voltaics. However, the Jetboil provides more precision and control over the cooking process and is an overall more robust system.
Conclusion
In terms of itโs small size and ability to heat up very quickly, the Stoke Voltaics excels. However, it falls short in other areas, particularly in the fact that the Stoke Voltaics requires electricity and that you canโt control the heat levels.
For people looking for maximum convenience in their portable cooking system, the Stoke Voltaics is a good fit. However, if you need more control and precision, or plan to be off-grid without access to power, traditional cooking systems like a portable Dutch Oven or old-school open flame are better for your needs.
