Battery Type
Battery type is the type of lithium ion cells that these power stations have.
- They both have lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. These are preferred because they have a longer battery life, more charge cycles, and they’re less likely to overheat. They’re a more stable lithium ion technology.
Storage Capacity
Storage capacity is how much energy the power stations can retain.
- The Bluetti AC180 can store 1,152 watt hours of energy versus the EcoFlow Delta 2, which can store 1,024 hours of energy.
Output
Output is how much power the portable power stations can deliver when you plug your devices in.
- They can deliver identical levels of output. Both can deliver 1,800 Watts of power with a 2,700 watt surge. Surge is a temporary amount of power that you can provide to your devices for short periods of time.
Charge Cycles
Charge cycles gives you an indication of how long you can expect the battery to perform at its optimal efficiency.
- The Bluetti AC180 has a longer battery life because it delivers more charge cycles. You get 3,500 charge cycles from the Bluetti versus 3,000 charge cycles from the EcoFlow Delta 2.
- This amount of charge cycles should last, you know, at least eight to 10 years of solid battery functionality. The Bluetti AC180 will ultimately have a longer lasting battery life.
Outlets and Ports
Outlets and ports are where you can plug your devices up into the power station.
- The Bluetti AC180 has 11 outlets and ports. You get four standard AC outlets. This is your standard wall outlet. For USB A at 15 Watts each. One USB-C at 100 Watts each, one wireless charging pad at 15 Watts and one DC carport at 12 volts.
- With the EcoFlow Delta 2, you get 14 outlets and ports. So you get six AC outlets, two USB A at 12 watts each ,two USB A at 18 Watts each, two USB C at a hundred Watts each and two DC carports 12 volts.
AC recharge
AC recharge is how long it takes to charge the power station if you plug it into an AC wall outlet.
- The Bluetti charges in about two hours and the EcoFlow Delta two charges in about 80 minutes.
Solar Input
- The Bluetti AC 180 has a maximum of 500 Watts of solar input, and the EcoFlow Delta 2 has much higher solar input of 1200 Watts.
- So in theory, the EcoFlow Delta 2 should be able to charge faster because it has a higher solar input.
DC Recharge
This is how long it would take to recharge the power stations using the 12 volt cigarette carport. This is really handy if you’re camping or off-grid because you can use your car.
- The Bluetti AC180 takes about five to six hours to recharge. The EcoFlow Delta 2 DC recharge time is unknown.
Weight
- The Bluetti AC 180 is about 10 pounds heavier than the EcoFlow Delta 2. The Bluetti weighs 37.4 pounds and the EcoFlow Delta 2 weighs 27 pounds.
Price
They are about the same in terms of pricing.
- The Bluetti AC180 cost $999 and the EcoFlow Delta 2 cost $969.
- However, as of August 2024, Amazon is having a sale on the Bluetti at almost half price, at $549.
App Control, Bluetooth and WiFi
- Both of these have wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability, which is a great feature.
- It allows you to remotely control the power station using an app. It also allows your power station to connect to the internet so that you can get software patches and security upgrades.
Bonus Features
- The Bluetti AC180 has is emergency power supply EPS switchover for critical devices.
- This allows you to plug in critical devices like medical equipment or a server.
- In case you lose power, the Bluetti will automatically kick into gear so that your device never goes without power.
So, what did these two have in common?
- They both have LFP batteries, which is great.
- They have the same amount of power output.
- And they both have app control and wifi capability.
How they are different?
Bluetti AC180
- The Bluetti AC180 has more capacity, which means it can store more energy.
- It has more charge cycles, meaning the battery will last longer.
- And it has this EPS capability, this emergency power supply.
EcoFlow Delta 2
- The EcoFlow Delta 2 has more outlets and ports, so you can plug more devices into the power station.
- It has a faster AC recharge. So you can get it charged back up when the energy is depleted.
- It has a higher solar input and should be able to charge faster using solar panels.
- It’s about 10 pounds lighter and it’s a little bit cheaper.
